Port of Miami 2 Album Shoot

As Rick Ross approached the release of his highly anticipated album “Port of Miami 2,” he had multiple creative shoots that left him with unsatisfying results. Ross reached out to Metelus Studios as he wanted a fresh perspective and to give someone who was not necessarily in his world a shot. This was the first major music campaign for our studio and our first time working alongside Epic Records. This project allowed us to show that we could excel outside of the sports world. We came into the shoot with no real intensions but to create diverse imagery.

We settled on an all-black, in-studio shoot at our own Fly on The Wall property in Miami. We created multiple mini-sets throughout the space in what ended up being a two shoot collaboration. Ross styled himself and provided his own creative direction (dark, moody) and by the end of the project, he was thrilled with our professionalism and use of minimalism. We produced 7 total images for his album packaging, as well as the CD back, cover, and the single art for the lead single “Act a Fool.” The rest of the images can be found in the digital and physical album book.
